Content and moderation

Last updated 18 August 2026.

What FishCoin publishes

When the app measures a catch and is confident in the measurement, that catch becomes public on this website: a short video, a photo, the length, the time, a blurred position about a mile across, and the angler's handle. If the angler has chosen to share them, their first name and a profile photograph appear too. Anyone can see all of this without an account.

Catches the app cannot measure confidently are never published.

What is not allowed

How we moderate — stated plainly

Our measurement system is not a moderation system. FishCoin's computer vision decides whether a clip contains a fish it can measure against the token. It rejects most of what is uploaded, because most of what is uploaded is not a fish. It has no opinion at all about whether a clip it can measure is offensive, and we do not present it as if it did. Objectionable content is caught by people reporting it and by us acting on those reports.

Reporting

Every public catch and angler page carries a Report link, and the app has the same control on any catch that is not your own. You can also go straight to fishcoin.ai/report. No account is needed and reports from people who do not use FishCoin count the same as any other.

What a report does

Reported forWhat happens
A child's safety, sexual content, or illegal activity One report removes it from the public site immediately, pending review.
Anything else Three different people reporting the same thing removes it from the public site, pending review.

Content removed this way stops appearing on every public page and stops counting toward every leaderboard, immediately. A person then reviews it and either puts it back or removes it permanently. Holds are reversible and recorded, so a group of people cannot use the report button to destroy a rival's entry — the worst it achieves is a delay that we undo and a record of who tried.

How long we take

ReportReviewed by a person within
Child safety, sexual content, illegal activity24 hours
Everything else72 hours

What we can do

We do not tell a reporter the outcome, and we never tell the person who was reported who reported them.

Blocking

In the app you can block another angler. A blocked angler cannot send you a challenge, their existing invitations to you disappear, and their catches stop appearing anywhere in the app for you. They are not told.

What blocking cannot do, said plainly. The public pages on this website have no signed-in viewer, so a block cannot hide a catch there. If something should not be public at all, report it — that is the control that removes it for everybody.

If we act against you

If your content is removed and you think we got it wrong, reply to the message we send you, or use the contact button on the home page. A person will look at it again.

Age

FishCoin is for people aged 13 and over. If you believe an account belongs to someone younger, report it as It involves a child and we will act on it as a priority.
